A Big Thank You

In August 2007 we received a significant donation from a concert by the Laurie Berkner Band held at Mountain Laurel Center for the Performing Arts. This was made possible by Mountain Laurel Center, Two Tomatoes Records, and the Laurie Berkner Band.

That donation enabled us to fund this website, allowing us to better serve our community by providing easier to locate information. In the first month we've had over 300 visitors.

Melanie VanDerveer of the Eastern Poconos Community News ran an article on the concert and then did a followup a few weeks later on our group. This has helped us to raise awareness in the community and reach new families.

We wish to thank all of the people that helped make this happen.

East Stroudsburg University Student Council for Exceptional Children

We really can't say enough about the help that we've received from the past and present ESU student members of the CEC. They volunteer to provide sitting services for our children during our meetings and monthly Buddysitting events, hold a fun Penny Carnival which raises funds for an April Stony Acres Retreat Day. They also volunteer to staff the ESU Special Populations Swim and Gym Program for 2 quarters each year. Several of our children participate in these events.

Liz Bartos & Pocono Friendly's

Liz did most of the leg work and acted as guest host for our Friendly's Fun-Raising Night in Tannersville. This event resulted in a great night out and also a donation to our group.

Staff of Pleasant Valley School District

A Jeans Day fundraiser resulted in the largest donation to our group to date.
